- Ring Report submitted by Dennis Chan -

The Vancouver Magic Circle’s first meeting for the 2022 magic year took place on Thursday, January 27 via Zoom. Before the meeting officially started, there was a chat session with Elliot Hunter, our guest lecturer and some members of the club. Then president Rod Boss officially opened the meeting by greeting the members and the out of town guests.

Rod then formally introduced and welcomed Elliot Hunter for the evening. Elliot started his lecture with a video performance with Gabriella Lester at the Magic Castle. Gabriella is a Vancouver Magic Circle member. Elliot gave a short history of his educational background and how he got started in magic, and doing shows at the Magic Castle.

He did a business card effect and showed how to perform it and he also showed his method of forcing a card. He performed a quick costume change with his suit jacket. He talked about fundraisers, marketing and how to draw up a contract, and to make sure to get it signed. Everyone enjoyed Elliot’s great and informative lecture.
